Then I found out what a dogtrot cabin was, and it was so interesting that I felt beholden to furnish both sides of each room. (The dogtrot is the breezeway in the middle, since each side was built separately.)
Jaddell started it all, of course. Here are the results of how I altered the tropical guest house tuts on her site with my rattan doors. Go check out her entire tropical site.

A cantilevered house on the prairie, built between 1625 and 1725, which is why it doesn't have a fancy roof. Learn more about Early American Colonial style here.
