Gratuities (Tips)

Your best friend in Paint Shop Pro and many other programs is the key combination:

It'll undo a multitude of goofs.

Check out the other key combinations that simplify life. (F1 will get you help. Look for "Keyboard shortcuts".)

Darkening an Image

Frustrated with the Brightness/Contrast feature of PSP, so I experimented with deforming shadows, which darkened an image, but didn't change the original hue. Full explanation here.

Build your own tool bars.

I use Invert (selections) quite often. The key combination of CTRL+I is easy, but it's easier to give an icon a quick click. Mine is on the Effects tool bar.

Finding the Center

Solving the mysteries of where the center of something might be, for example, when you put a dormer window on a roof. Where should it go?

Moving an Image Just a Little

A disinterested cat mouses better than I do. If I need to move an image just a tad, I use the Deformation Tool. (SHIFT+arrow key, any direction.)
